The pilgrimage continues

Logrono had been heavily plugged by primal tracking and we were not let down. There is a famous street “Calle laurel” which was 50 m from our door. It is lined with bars / restaurants/tapas bars and everyone was out. Great vibe.

Liz chatted up a barman (In Spanish ) he had a friend in Athlone !

Had a great night and probably too much tinto !

Later start than usual with immediate stop for coffee. Lovely place. The owner insisted we bring our bikes inside and then did it himself.😍

Great coffee and croissant.

Headed off out of town. Hitting the Camino quickly. It was flooded with pilgrims of all Nationalities. It was like skittles. The Japanese were easy enough to hit , the Germans a bit trickier.

Passed the seicapack factory , just like warrenpoint without the delightful rare aroma of the harbour.

No smell here.

Then only a lovely traffic free road climb (600m) with a coffee stop.

Absolutely stunning views , many churches. Much nicer than previous 2 days.

Lots of churches , some in a sorry state of repair.

Weather had got a bit cloudy and it was chilly enough to put on a coat for the descent

Then we turned into a “ Strada Bianche type road which in turn joined an 40 km greenway all the way to Vitoria Gasteiz. Was all going swimmingly till Komoot decided to route us off through a quarry and over a big hill. Luckily we weren’t run over by a lorry. But got back to green way eventually.

No “rough stones” today

.

Rolled to the city which was much bigger than we expected. Bit of a navigation crisis temporarily, google maps has been really playing up 🧐. But found the apartment. Again 5th floor but tiny ( and cheap ) . Washing machine is on already.

Only one spin to Bilbao left now. Hopefully weather will hold.

ASS = 3 today. 😳

BOG remains at zero although this looks like a town where the odd B.O. ( Bentley owner) might have a weekend apartment.

MDT traffic lights 🚦. Green all day with a little amber flash towards the end as we navigated to apartment.

I had thought of adding a BSS ( Bristol Stool Score ) as although the Spanish seem to grow a lot of veg they never seem to eat any. If I don’t get some soon I’ll be getting a bad score on that.

Time for a shower and a cerveza.
