In which headwinds return , tired legs and a puncture.
Left hotel Casona de Yaiza straight after a fairly sh@te breakfast. Immediate stop at cafe for proper coffee.
Started on mainish road out of Yaiza through many vineyards
Komoot soon had us off the beaten track
Stopped in San Bartolome for a coffee we didn’t deserve after only 18km but it was into a headwind…
Then off to teguise where yes we stopped for lunch. Delicious tapas.
After Teguise we were straight off road on a long climb to the military aerial place. Nice church at the top but it was locked. freezing there. Certainly no chance of a toasted salami Didi but maybe a frozen one. Liz punctured just before the top. Plugged.
Then the long descent to Haria first on road then off road. Lovely ☺️.
Checked into a nice hotel. Felt the need for a treat. 200 yo converted house. Oldest library in the island apparently. I could even see a Bentley outside ( second hand mind you )
Relaxed day but tired legs. Tomorrow is a day off the bike. Then heading back to graciosa when hopefully the sun will shine.
