Rest day. Sort of.
Fantastic meal last night , managed to snag an early table at a tapas place. Delicious
Today we had planned a road loop as a bit of a rest , returning to Yaiza tonight via playa Blanca ferry.
Komoot was acting the 🍆again and took us on gravel track along a road for 6 k then decided it wanted to go the other way around the loop. So we spent the whole day with Komoot telling me to do a u turn 🙄
Up to La Olivia , headwind , then left to Caldereta ( blink and you’ll miss it) . Then hard to port and along the coastal road through the national park. Glorious tailwind. Shook out the reefs , dropped the number 2 , hoisted the Genoa and a broad reach the whole way back to the port .
Even had a swim.
Unfortunately we missed the ferry we had a return ticket for ( there are three ferry companies) so now on a big slow ferry to playa Blanca but is flat calm unlike the last time.
Then finished with a quick dart up to Yaiza. Stopped for a quick cerveza in the town. Nice hotel.
