Graciosa to Orzola to Famara
Casa Rosa Bella , off booking.com , nice apartment, we ate in after a soaking last night. Bottle of vino and early bed
Up early. Chatted to Jim in USA first thing. He was up late making sour dough for half the population of Sunnyvale. Cycled down “ the strand” to a lovely restaurant for breakfast. 20/10 not a square piece of bacon in sight
Freshly squeezed zumo naranja and granola/museli/ yoghurt and fruit. Top quality coffee also. Nothing frank and honest here
Round the corner to the ferry. Had to wait a bit so cleaned and oiled the chains after the sand. Topped up tyres and were piped aboard the 10am ferry to Orzola . Fingers crossed for weather tomorrow, forecast a bit ominous.

Initially a road climb out of Orzola soon turned into delicious gravel. The place is SO green at present.
Climbed to the Mirador del Rio where we were treated to stunning views of Graciosa .
Then a steep descent and a tight climb before dropping into Haria for lunch
Off road climb initially out of Haria then onto the road to another Mirador. We got there in the nick of time before the sky’s opened. Another coffee 🤪.
When the rain abated a bit we donned full waterproofs and headed for Teguise. At some point here Komoot had a catnaption and tried to take us over a mountain “track”. No way Jose. Sorted after an interlude and off road again into teguise.
Sun came out again and we left Teguise on a super gravel road all the way to Famara. I remember some years ago being here with brother Brian and we trusted an ancient GPS to take us to Famara. We ended up on this road in our fiat panda. when we met tourists being driven in full off road vehicles we suspected we were in trouble. But in fairness to the Panda it handled it ok.
Now settled into a fairly smelly air bnb which was a complete faff to find. At least it has a washing machine which is getting a workout already.
Not much excitement today , certainly no toasted salami. But stunning cycling and we are cruising so don’t look at avg speed please
