Arecife to Graciosa via Orzola.
Nice meal last night near hotel and slept like the dead after a long day. Hotel was ok but notable absence of any Bentleys outside. The buffet breakfast was poor 5/10 , machine coffee , artificial fruit juice , square bacon ,the whole nine yards of poor.

Lovely morning with a tailwind 😌, cycle path all the way to Costa teguise . NMDDC take note.

Then off road into a national park. A fully loaded gravel bike is a different beast when it gets gnarly and takes a while to get used to. Adds an extra level of respect for Doc L after his AMR

Stopped for coffee and carrot cake in what appears to have been a naturist resort. A lot of well tanned appendages, I could get crude with talk of toasted salami sandwiches but it’s before the watershed.

Then komoot led us slightly astray having recommended a route through another bit of national park. It was very tricky , big bits of lava and soft sand. We nearly turned back but glad we didn’t.

Then out onto a road with delicious tailwind for a downhill run into Orzola. the ferry was waiting for us with the gangplank down obviously Mr Harty had phoned the captain.
Short trip across to La graciosa

Then the rain started ☔️🤨, dived straight into a restaurant for an omelette and a duo of cervezas .
Headed to apartment down main street I kid you not it’s like cranfield strand.

Dumped the panniers and headed off to explore the island. It’s beautiful but would be even more beautiful if it wasn’t lashing rain and blowing a gale. Road was paved in places but probably about 50 years ago . super rough in places.
A lot of barriers to stop you going off road to protected areas but definitely worth the trip even in the rain

Back to apartment via supermarket and now trying to dry clothes …. Not likely to happen soon . Wine needs opened.
Great day. Fingers crossed for weather tomorrow as we head to Famara.
