The weather turned today and we had a little rain on leaving the lovely Leenane Hotel , great meal last night including some very fine Killary Harbour mussels . Great breakfast also , steered clear of the fry.

Headed round the harbour and up towards Doolough valley , pausing first at the famous Aasleagh Falls and then at the famine memorial.

We were keeping an eye on Tim Lewis’s progress and planned to meet him in Louisburg. He managed to get there before us and we raced hard to get there before he left. He is going well with over 1000km done in 4 days to our 10 🧐.

We then proceeded to Westport jumping on a sort of cycle way on the way in. I can safely say it’s the worst cycle lane I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been on the warrenpoint to newry one !

Two nights in Westport to rest. Martin and Julie coming also on their motorcycles, looking forward to that. Then head north. Tim will be home long before us.
