Salthill to Roundstone
Stayed at the Galway bay hotel in Salthill last night. Not bad but the restaurant won’t be getting a Michelin 🌟 anytime soon. Saved only by a reasonable Malbec .
Amused staff and public alike by crossing the road to the sea for a swim in our robes. Met the Salthill dippers who swim everyday at 7

Then off though the town towards the country , very struck by the amount of large new houses. No shortage of euro around here. met Erbie a cycle tourist from France who scored 1/10 on the craic / interest scale.
Stopped in Oughterard for delicious coffee in “my little flower” cafe . Coffee was great despite the name.

Spent the rest of the day beating into a strong headwind on what was billed as an easy day 😔. Felt like cycling into a Paul Henry painting .

Arrived at roundstone hotel , unloaded bikes and went to Gorteen beach for a lovely if freezing swim. Stunning beach.

In other news.
Wordle 5/6 poor 😔
Amended saddle sore score (ASSS)=1🧐
