Ulster Way x5, a set on Flickr.

With freezing rain and 50mph winds rom the south , anything on the open mountain was out . To the gathered ensemble of Stephen, Kenny,Cormac ,Liz and the COC , there was a rousing cheer as I described the route which would keep us out of the wind .
The 5 climbs of the Ulster Way was as far as I remember first described by the great Kookie O’Hagan during training for the 2002 Transalp. It probably involved barbed wire in your shorts and 30mph sprints also , but those times are gone 🙁 so a more moderate pace was in order and the barbed wire was replaced by inco pads .
Liz was first to fall victim to the cold after 3 climbs and a snow shower , very quickly followed by Cormac . Stephen was next to fail after 4 . Only Kenny and Myself produced the moral fortitude to keep going just so we could bring you this garmin route to titillate you . Just everyday service from NTSR .
