Due to an administrative error in the office at NTSR Towers for which P45’s were nearly issued ,The Ferry we booked 6 months ago was completely forgotten till the reminder email from Irish Ferries . Cormac had planned a heavy weekend with someone called Gym , Kenny was tinkering with cars , and Stephen was whittling sticks and cutting Doyleys from dark matter . So the reserves ( Ed and Eamon)were called in to play for a mad dash to Snowdon and Back .<\/p>\n
Left NTSR HQ at 6am stopping to pick up Eamon and off to Dublin where Irish Ferrys whisked us at an alarming rate to Holyhead . Before you could say “Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch” we were in Llanberis and 5 minutes later were were well on our way up the Llanberis track along with half the population of England\/Wales . We cut swathes through the throng expecting the crowd to thin out but alas , everywhere you looked mad dogs and englishmen\/ women and children and various states of latherment. Lots of cyclists too who seemed to be pushing even on slopes you could have rolled up. As we approached the top a queue formed ( as you would expect ) and I would have taken a photo at the trig point but there wasn’t room . Quick stop for photos , and off a pace down past more cyclists also pushing their bikes down!. Back to bottom in 1hr 15 with loads of time to spare , cream buns and pasties . Off to the ferry which amazingly left 35 minutes early . Back at NTSR HQ at 8.30 ..not bad .<\/p>\n
Views were spectacular and we were very lucky with the weather but I wouldnt rush back and I would not be interested in cycling it!<\/p>\n
The possibility of a cycling day trip is however attractive.<\/p>\n
